April Merrill—Senior Fellow

April Merrill is the Senior Fellow in the Tulsa office. A 2010 graduate of the University of Tulsa Law School, April will assist in developing internal policies and monitoring compliance issues for CLSFF and its sister entities in Jerusalem. Her programmatic portfolio is focused on the Foundation’s mission as it relates to child advocacy: prevention, intervention and treatment of child abuse and neglect.

During her law school tenure, April founded PAW-LAW, a service-oriented animal advocacy law student group, which has partnered with multiple animal-related non-profits such at the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals, the Tulsa Animal Welfare Shelter, Tulsa SPCA(Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), Animal Aid and the Meals on Wheels pet food delivery program. In 2009, she coordinated the ABA (American Bar Association) Separation of Powers program to teach over 400 low-income 5th graders about the rights and responsibilities of citizenship and the three branches of government. April is a strong advocate for meaningful volunteer opportunities, and her dream is to reach a point in her life where she can become a fulltime volunteer in her community.
